Dr M Ashraful Kabir was born in the Kushtia District of Bangladesh on 23rd December 1974. He was habituated to rear wild-rock pigeons first then tumbler pigeons by his father's guidance. His father’s had Pakistani highflyer, Turkish tumbler, and lotan pigeon. Till now the author has 45 years of experience in pigeon keeping. Ashraful Kabir has huge nostalgic events with pigeons in his life. Dr Kabir passed his SSC examination from Bheramara High School, HSC from Kushtia Government College. BSc Hons in Zoology, MSc in Animals Genetics and Breeding, and PhD entitled ‘Productivity and Management of Chicken Breeds in Some Selected Poultry Farms of the Northern Regions of Bangladesh on the Verge of Bird Flu Situations’ from the Department of Zoology under the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. In university life, Kabir got two gold medals for the brilliant academic results (Department and Faculty first). OMICS International, India in 2016 declared that Ashraful Kabir is an Agri and Aqua Expert. In addition, in the years 2017 and 2019, Kabir has been awarded the best BNCC teacher in Nilphamari District level of Bangladesh, and in 2018 he has achieved 2-Lieutenant rank under BNCC. He has published a total of 182 scientific articles from various national and international journals. Kabir’s two reports have been published from India on ‘Gharial’ and ‘Fancy Pigeon’. A book on poultry has been published from Germany (Lambert Publishing Company) with his MSc and PhD supervisor. He attended 3 conferences, 1 bird fair where he got first prize for birds’ identification and 1 presentation on his PhD work. Dr Kabir has numerous hobbies- bird/wildlife watching, pigeon keeping, magic show, tabla playing, and reading.
