Henry Olumuyiwa Owolabi was born in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, Nigeria and he spent his early years moving round communities with his parents as they were posted to different schools to serve as teachers. He attended ECWA and United Primary Schools in Olla and Aran-Orin respectively and from 1972 to 1976, proceeded to Anglican Comprehensive College which was then known as Anglican College of Commerce in Offa. In 1981, Henry Owolabi obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Ibadan and started his career as a secondary school teacher under the State Ministry of Education after completion of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in 1982. Henry Owolabi is married to Caroline Olanike Owolabi and they are blessed with four children and grandchildren. After obtaining the Master's and doctorate degrees in 1988 and 1996 respectively, he joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 1997 where he rose from Lecturer II to rank of a Professor of Educational Evaluation in 2014. As an academic staff at the University of Ilorin, Professor Henry Olumuyiwa Owolabi has for more than 23 years engaged in teaching, research and innovation in educational measurement and evaluation. His research interests are in psychometrics, programme evaluation, technology integration in educational assessment and learning improvement.
