Ardian Ulvan received the B.Eng degree in electrical engineering in 1997 from Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, MSc in Networks Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, UK in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic in 2008. In 1999-2005 periods he worked as a Senior Lecturer in Department of Electrical Engineering, The University of Lampung, Indonesia. Since 2008 till now as fellow researcher at wireless networks research group department of telecommunication engineering, CTU in Prague. Currently he serves as the head at Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Lampung. His research interests include MAC functionalities on broadband and gigabit wireless based on standards IEEE802.16d/e/j/m and 3GPP LTE/LTE-A, multihops-multicells wireless networks and the IP Media Subsystem (IMS). He involved in European research projects FIREWORKS (ICT-FP6), ROCKET (ICT-FP7), FREEDOM (ICT-FP7) and several projects at CTU R&D Centre, research project SPECTRUM (KLN) and SMARTMOB (MP3EI) funded by Directorate of Research and Community Service, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Republic of Indonesia.
