I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Sociology where I teach Anthropology and Sociology. I have strong background of academic and development research. I have completed doctoral research in Anthropology of Religion from Cardiff University, UK following ethnographic research method to understand Islamic revivalist movement (the Tablighi Jamaat) in the UK and Bangladesh based on a long-term fieldwork. The title of my doctoral research was ‘The Tablighi Jamaat in Bangladesh and the UK: an Ethnographic Study of an Islamic Reform Movement’. I also earned MA in Global Citizenship, Identities and Human Rights from the University of Nottingham, UK.
