Agung Dhamar Syakti received his Ph.D in Analytical Chemistry from Aix Marseille III University in France (University of Paul Cezanne) in 2004, and he is now an marine pollution and bioremediation specialist. He has over 10 years experience with soils bioremediation and waste water treatment projects. He develops and implements bioremediation application on waste treatment and post-mining land-use through his knowledge in analytical chemistry and in microbiology. On July 2004, he got award of Mahar Schutzenberger from The AFIDES, France, a foundation for science development in Indonesia. Dr. Syakti sits as environmental biotechnology team leader in Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies-Bogor Agricultural University, actually, he is nominated as a senior scientist at this research center. He has also completed several projects in several oil and gas companies on improving biological treatment through bioremediation techniques and technologies. Since 2005, Dr. Syakti has nominated a Lecturer and Researcher at the Marine Sciences Department, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science– Jenderal Soedirman University, on water pollution biology, organic and inorganic chemistry and marine pollution as well as marine conservancy. Not limited only to the environmental biotechnology field, he work in collaboration with his students in others fields such as, marine natural product, bioenergy from marine organisms, marine chemistry and environmental toxicology. In 2008, he is invited as Professor Associated in collaboration with Prof. Pierre Doumenq from University of Paul Cezanne (currently Aix Marseille University, France). In the same year, he joints the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2008 for special task force for Industrial, Technology and Marine Affairs. From 2009 to 2011, he is conducting a research related to the organic contaminant flux : soil-water and biocoenose transfers as a post-doctoral scientist in University of Aix Marseille. In term of scientific production, he has tweenty peer-reviewed publications in several rang A journals and two reference books. In 2015, he take part of responsibility to create and develop a newly research center at Jenderal Soedirman University, namely Center for Maritime Biosciences Studies.
