Ben Kudus Yussif obtained B.A. (English) and MPhil (English Language) from the Department of English, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. During his stay at the university, he worked as a graduate teaching assistant at the Department of Communication Studies and a research assistant at the Department of English. He assisted in research activities and taught courses including communicative skills, contemporary African literature, studies in Shakespeare and varieties of English. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in College Student Personnel at The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education, Ohio University. He is the civic engagement Graduate Assistant at the Centre for Campus and Community Engagement in the university. In his role, he coordinates the planning and implementation of institution-wide democratic engagement activities and events, working closely with various university colleges and student organizations. Overall, he takes a lot of interest in civil dialogue and strives to promote inclusive democracy that is committed to fulfilling and empowering the voting needs of young people. He is a budding scholar in the fields of English language, law, literature, and education. His research interest spans discourse analysis, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, language and law, higher education, international students etc.
