Cekli Pratiwi is an Associate Professor of Law at Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and the Chairman of the Center for Human Rights Studies (satuHAM). Since 2020, she is pointed to be the General Secretary of the Indonesian Association of Human Rights Lecturers (SEPAHAM Indonesia). She earned an LL.M degree in the International and European Protection of Human Rights at School of Law, Utrecht University and holds a Master in Comparative Law from J.Reuben Clark Law School Brigham Young University – U.S.A. Currently, she is a Ph.D Candidate of the Institute for Human Rights and Peace Studies Mahidol University. Her expertise are International Human Rights Law, the Rule of Law and Religion, Constitutional Law, Public Administrative Law and Good Governance Principles, Public Litigation, and Peace Studies. Since 2010, She contributed as resource person of the annual training program on Shariah and Human Rights, supported by the ICLRS – BYU and Norwegian Center for Human Rights. She has participated in the Religion and Rule of Law (ROL) training programs in Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Indonesia arranged by IGE, the ICLRS. She is currently doing a Bahasa translation of a Case Law book on Law and Religion written by Cole Durham and Brett Scharffs. She has been actively engage as a presenter at international and national conferences on human rights. Her current research experiences are (1) the Root Causes of Hate Speech in Malaysia worked with Article 19 in London, (2) Freedom of Religion in Indonesia Using UPR Approach worked with APHR and IFORB. Her last publications are "Blasphemy Law as Structural Violence: A Challenge to Building Sustainable Peace" published by De Guyter (2021); "Rethinking the Constitutionality of the Flawed Indonesia's Anti Blasphemy Law" published by Constitutional Review (2022).
